A Kwik Approach to Fresh Fruit and Veggies

One of the newer initiatives that the Kwik Trip Kitchens has undertaken in 2021 has been packaging fresh fruit for our stores, creating a more direct process that allows our Kitchens to have a better control of quality and freshness.

The initial offerings started with cups of pineapple, grapes, watermelon and cantaloupe, and will soon expand to include cups with combined pineapple and strawberries as well as another cup with strawberries, blueberries and kiwi. Later this spring, the Kitchens will start packaging 16-ounce fruit trays, 12-ounce and 6-ounce veggie trays of cauliflower, broccoli and carrots, as well as carrots and dip and another with apples and caramel. The production facility is currently producing approximately 15,000 units per day!

According to Brad Clarkin, production operations director at Kwik Trip, this endeavor is all about fresh, quality products.

“Kwik Trip is placing more emphasis on selling better-for-you products within our stores, as an effective way to continue to grow sales, increase profitability and offer our guests fresh product, at a great value,” said Clarkin.

These excellent offerings are prepared in the new addition of the Kitchens that came on-line last fall, in the same facility where our Take Home Meals and pizzas are produced. It continues to add to our commitment of delivering what guests want, with the freshest possible products at reasonable prices.

Kwik Trip Open Interview Day on March 24th!

March 22, 2021

## FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ##

KWIK TRIP OPEN INTERVIEW DAY

Endless Career Opportunities

Kwik Trip announced that March 24th has been designated as their next company-wide Open Interview Day to kick off their Spring hiring.

Kwik Trip has been continually expanding its footprint within the Midwest and this year is no different.  This growth is what prompted the company to hold another event on Wednesday, March 24th.  This in-person event will take proper precautions to keep people safe. Guests 16 and older are welcome to stop into any store between 10 am – 6 pm to receive an interview at all Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Tobacco Outlet Plus, Tobacco Outlet Plus Grocery, and Stop-N-Go stores. Facemasks and physical distancing requirements must be observed at all times.

Kwik Trip says that while not all their markets will be getting a new store this year, between additions to their current stores, as well as their focus on internal growth, there are many openings in all areas of the company.  “As we continue to grow our footprint and our people, there are never-ending opportunities to join our company,” says Recruiting Manager Stephanie Cormican.  “These company-wide events make it easy for people to stop into the nearest store, talk to the Store Leader for a quick 10-15-minute interview and be on their way.”

The company is looking for individuals who are hardworking, dependable, and possess their Core Values.  Applicants are encouraged to apply online at kwiktrip.jobs before the event.  There you can also find additional information on the benefits that Kwik Trip shares with its coworker such as sick and vacation pay, 401k, health and dental plans, as well as a 40% profit sharing plan that provides coworkers with a yearly bonus check.

Newest Karben4 beer collaboration set to hit the shelves

MADISON, Wis. – With two successful collaborations to date, Kwik Trip has once again partnered with Karben4 for the release of the newest limited-edition beer, the peanut butter chocolate stout aptly named Urge Tracker. This offering is inspired by the Nature’s Touch® Urge Tracks, which is a vanilla ice cream packed with chocolate fudge and peanut butter cups, and will be stocked in Kwik Trip and Stop-N-Go stations across Wisconsin starting on Monday, February 8, 2021.

The new Urge Tracker stout from Karben4

The release of Urge Tracker follows the 2019 release of Glazer Bean, a doughnut and coffee-inspired beer, and Hot Spot Hazy IPA, which hit the shelves in May of 2020.

“We are incredibly grateful to be collaborating with our friends at Kwik Trip again!” said Zak Koga, owner of Karben4. “First, it was a lot of fun!  Our unofficial test is that we have to laugh at ourselves when developing a Kwik Series beer.  Second, chocolate + peanut butter = life.  And third, once again during this pandemic, Kwik Trip has been a wonderful partner to Karben4 and provided us this opportunity to help keep our employees busy and to keep our doors open.”

A unique element of the Urge Tracker beer release is a production technique called nitrogenation, which incorporates nitrogen gas into the beer, creating the creamy finish that the beer was designed to have.

According to Koga, a “hard” pour will be what fully unlocks the taste of Urge Tracker.

“I want to encourage aggressively pouring this beer into a glass for the best experience,” said Koga. “There is no widget in the can to capture the N2 gas and release it with the can opening to automatically produce the creaminess. It is simply mixed in the liquid and stuck in the head space of the can. Nitrogen gas plays well with others, but is a lone wolf in that it does not readily dissolve in liquids (unlike CO2). A rousing pour helps to reintroduce the nitrogen to the beer, creating the opportunity for the super creamy foam.

It does not quite have as much nitrogen as beers such as Guinness or Left Hand Brewing’s Milk Stout, but a milder version of those comparable offerings.

“It is not intended to be a fully nitro-beer but the nitro tilt offers extra creaminess that washes down the beautiful peanut butter cup aroma and flavor,” said Koga. “Let that nitrogen mix and develop before diving in. I can think of at least one ice cream you could enjoy while waiting!”

The Urge Tracker beer is set to be delivered to all Kwik Trip and Stop-N-Go stores located in Wisconsin. Check out the delivery schedule here and visit the Karben4 website for more information.
