I am a home-grown Wisconsin cheese head with my oldest football memory being our 1997 Super Bowl win. Nearly 30 years later, I’ve grown my own family of Packers fans. Being a nurse and having a husband in law enforcement, we’ve worked a lot of weekends over the years, missing many games and Packers parties, especially when our kids were small. To win any tickets is an amazing gift but having the opportunity to win season tickets is truly a dream come true for our family!
We typically spend Packers games with our family and friends- either hosting them at our house or their house. There’s always a lot of noise, kids, dogs, and LOTS of food! Of course, we always want a win but regardless of the final score, the way the Green and Gold has brought us all together over the years is really special.
When I was 13 I met my favorite player, Donald Driver. On a portrait of himself he signed, “To Abby, my future wife” as a cheeky joke after my dad blabbed about my crush. Years later I lost it. That experience and later losing that framed photo is my favorite AND most haunting memory.
Tied for my favorite memory is the only Packer game I’ve been to. The Frozen Tundra was indeed FREEZING, we lost, and our bus broke down on the way home. Despite (perhaps because of) all that, the adventure of it is a great memory and story!
I’ve been watching Packers games since my dad sat me down for my first game as a kid. Since then, I’ve spent Sunday after Sunday cheering during games, whether I was at home yelling at the TV or at a game having the time of my life! Packers football, to me, is all about family and friends. Although I was never able to go to a live game with my dad, going with my wife, father-in-law, and friends has been amazing. If selected, I would share the games with as many of my family and friends as possible.
Since I was a kid watching with my dad, game days have always been about family, friends and good food – brats, chili, pizza, etc. Nowadays, Packer game days might involve watching with just my wife and kids or getting a large group of extended family and close friends together. Win or lose, sharing it with family and friends is the best! Experiencing the excitement of great plays with them is my favorite. What can I say, a brat just tastes better when the Packers are winning! Finally, friends really do help me through those occasional losses too.
There have been many memories over the years that stick out: multiple Super Bowls, Brett Favre’s child-like enthusiasm, Aaron Rodger’s successful Hail Mary game-winning throws, and even the recent trade for Micah Parsons. My favorite memory, though, is watching games with my dad. In second grade, I remember him explaining everything about football to me and from there, I was hooked. Bonding over all those Packers games season after season, especially rivalry games against teams like the Bears, are memories I will always remember and have shaped the fan I am today.
I started watching the Packers at a young age with my family and have never stopped. Being the Ultimate fan for me means never missing a game, watching the drafts and anticipating how great the Packers will be with new players. I like collecting Packer memorabilia and have many signed footballs on display in my house signed by various packer players while attending family Day at Lambeau Field and passing on my passion for the Packers to my children. My love for the Packers also led me to become a youth football coach for my sons youth teams.
Game day is special. It is the one day of the week where I can take time to just watch the Packers. I never miss a game and always wear my Green and Gold on GameDay. No matter what I am doing, whether it is hunting or working on a car or house or whatever there is always a break to watch the game uninterrupted. I enjoy watching the games with my wife and whoever else happens to be around at the time. My game day is always planned around the Packers.
My favorite Packer memory was being able to take my family to a Wildcard playoff game at Lambeau. It was a very cold day in Green Bay but we made hot chocolate on the grill while tailgating. Once the game started the energy of the crowd and cheering for the Packers kept us warm. The Pack went on to win that day to advance in the Playoffs 38-13. It was special to be able to see a game at Lambeau Field , getting to see them win a wildcard Playoff game was even better.
